Designed for Stays
The wonderful people at Design + Industry engineer our devices — they are one of the world’s pre-eminent industrial designers dabbling in everything from Heston Blumenthal’s Barbecues to submarines for James Cameron.
When we met them, our brief was simple. This has to work on any door. And has to be able to be installed by anyone already working at the property. Lowering third party dependencies is important to hoteliers. Goki running a low touch, self-service model is attractive as it saves money on installation and maintenance.
We spent years obsessing over every detail. From electronic deadlatches that still allow other guests with active bookings to open the door — to high capacity Tesla designed batteries that enable us to include wi-fi modules in every lock. We put in the work. And it shows.
DoorCodes (not plastic)
Without them — you are giving the guest the option of using their phone as their key — but you also have to give them a keycard. If staff have the option of pushing an app or issuing a keycard — guess what? They are issuing a keycard. You are getting low adoption rates.
The SmartLock Pro can be opened via a button in your booking confirmation email (no need to download an app) but also via a back-up DoorCode. We make the 4-Digit code memorable (your DOB or Mobile) and you can even take it to your next stay. This means if your phone runs out, or you lock yourself out — you don’t need to go running to reception.
Sustainable
Goki remove plastic from your operation. Each guest is automatically issued with a unique SmartKey & DoorCode for the length of their stay — removing plastic keycards, expensive encoders and because we run on rechargeable lithium — you can stop throwing away batteries too!
This saves properties $20k per 100 rooms, per year. And it’s good for the planet.
